Changing a user’s email address in MeasureX requires a short manual process to ensure that all existing data (miners, balance, contracts, and history) remains intact.
Please follow the steps below carefully.
Overview
To change a user’s email address:
- The customer must first create a new account using the new email address. An admin then swaps the email addresses between the old and new accounts in the Admin Area.
- This process ensures the existing account data is preserved and correctly reassigned.
Step-by-Step Instructions
Step 1: Customer Creates a New Account
The customer needs to sign up with the new email address they want to use at:
[Your Company].measurex.io (Sign Up)
At this stage:
- The new account will be empty
- No miners, balance, or history are assigned yet
Step 2: Update the Email Address of the Existing Account
- Go to the Admin Area
- Open the customer account that currently contains all miners, balance, and data (the account with the old email address)
- In the User Information section, change the email address to the new email address
- Save the changes
This assigns the existing account data to the new email address.
Step 3: Update the Email Address of the Newly Created Account
- Open the newly created account (from Step 1)
- Change its email address to the old email address
- Save the changes
This ensures that:
- The account with data is linked to the new email address
- The empty account is linked to the old email address
Result
After completing these steps:
- The customer logs in using the new email address
- All miners, balance, contracts, and history remain fully available
-
The account with the old email address exists but contains no data
No data is lost during this process.
Important Notes
- This process must be performed by an admin
- Both email changes are required to avoid duplicate email conflicts
- Always verify the email addresses before saving changes
